Today I’ll be performing a chilled out set for brunch between 2pm and 4pm in Rye & Soda, Aberdeen. I’ll be jazzin’ up some songs – old and new, coupled with some folk instrumental music. Entry is free and the food is good!
Today sees me out this afternoon in Thainstone House for a private drinks reception. I’ll be performing some modern covers with a hint of jazz and swing popped in there for good measure. The sun is shining and the house itself looks stunning:

(Set times 1pm & 2pm)
Mr & Mrs Aiken – Norwood Hall Hotel.
“We Approached Oliver Richards about playing our wedding and we couldn’t of been happier with the service he provided. We had a consultation and he played us a few instrumentals for my wife walking down the aisle, he was also incredibly patient with us and had lots of fantastic suggestions.
We would certainly recommend Oliver Richards to anyone who is considering live acoustic music for their special day.
Thank you to Mr & Mrs Cheyne for their testimonial from their wedding at Maryculter House Hotel.
“Oliver Richards played the guitar during our signing of the register and he really helped to maintain interest at what can be a long process for the guests! He also closed the evening with some acoustic charm, which remains one of the most memorable moments of the day; he provided a warm, personal service which helped us to create the ambience we were so hoping for. We would highly recommend Oliver Richards as he is talented, professional, and a real asset to your wedding day.”
Mr & Mrs Forsyth – The Chester Hotel, Aberdeen.
A lovely testimonial here by Mr & Mrs Forsyth from my last visit to The Chester Hotel.
“Oliver Richards played at our wedding reception and played the bride down the aisle. He really created a brilliant atmosphere and every time we got a compliment about the day from the guests, they all said that the guitarist was amazing. With so much happening on the day we really appreciated how professional Oliver was and it was reassuring knowing that our guests were thoroughly entertained.”
This coming month sees me performing on Valentines day in the city centre for a private engagement party. Then moving forward I’ll be providing live background music in The Albyn bar & restaurant on Wednesday 25th February between 5.30pm & 7.30pm. I usually like to start with some soft Jazz, Blues and Folk music. Then, after a short break, I’ll restart with some more popular contemporary songs. Hopefully a little something for everyone in there. Who knows, maybe I’ll see some of you there?! Oliver Richards.
